ingition switch

I have a 1990 ford 150 the ingition switch is stuck. You can place the key in the switch but it will not turn. What is the best and easiest way to change .

Not trying to besmart, I promise. Are you sure you have the correct key? I would suggest having a locksmith pick the lock because the only way to remove the switch easily is with it in the on position and having the ability to cycle it on and off will certainly assist in the process. If that is not possible then you will have to take the column apart as much as possible to gain access to the lock on the ignition switch, drill it out, very carefully, and install the new switch.
Hope this is helpful to ya,

Stuck ignition

My 85 F-250 has a stuck ignition also. Can't afford a locksmith and I don't have the time or tools to take apart the steering column. Can it be forced without breaking anything in the column so the switch can be replaced? I've heard of this being done but don't know what can happen. Thanks for any input.
