Angry electrical in my rv

Hi
We just bought a 1973 doge class c motor home and have had nothing but problems with it, but my question is, on the way to the lake we were traveling down some bumpy roads and all of the sudden the power to the motor went out. we have nothing. The altornator is bad but we have just been keeping an extra battery with us in case it woulde't start, then we would trade it out and the truck would start right up, but this happened driving down the road, and know we are stuck. Does anyone have any idea? Please help we are stupid when it comes to rv's. Thank You.

Trouble

My advice would be to get a tune up. It could be a ton of things. I first would check the wiring for the battery; make sure it is all intact. And replace any thing that looks suspect. I would also make sure the battery is charged. The next thing to check would be the distributor and related items. So, replacing the battery did not fix it?
