1992 Chev C 2500 Radio/Stereo Trouble

I have a 1992 Chev 2500 with a factory (Delco - I believe) stereo with cassette. For the last 3 months the vehicle did not have a battery in it. Just recently I put a new battery in the truck and now the radio is locked up. The radio lights come on but there is no sound and the volume button activates but it does not move the sound level indicators. The treble and bass buttons also activate but do not move the level indicators and I am unable to set the clock. Unknown if the radio has some sort of anti-theft devise that locks the radio. I have owned the truck since the showroom floor and this was the first time that I had the battery out for any length of time. Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Jeanjer.
