im putting a 96 4.3 vortec in a 90 model pickup what kind of intake manifold do i need to throddle body since the new motor is fuel injected?

the engins are not the same im not sure if the old intake will fit the vortec
your best bet would be to leave it as the vortec and change the electronics and the wiring over if you have access to it

than you are stuck useing the new stuff unless you can find an aftermarket intake from someoe like edelbrock or someone that could get expensive
i think the best bet would be to get all electronics and stuff requiord to do a full swap or better yet try and find the proper engin for that year it sounds like you are opening a whole can of worms with this one

check with your local gm dealer to see if an intake is available for the 96 4.3 vortec engine that is throttle body injected.
the vortec heads are of different design and your old intake is not compatible with those heads gm does make vortec intakes for the v-8 models in both throttle body and carb versions not sure if one is available for the v-6.
