check engine light.

I have 2001 Chevy 1500 4x4, that silly check engine light keeps on coming on, I went to the GM dealer, and a few other mechanics so they keep on reseting the light , I know what the problem is , All the mechanics tell me that the charcoal evaporation canister (underneat by the fuel tank) is plugged I have taken it off and cleaned it out (lots of dust in there ) but I don't want to spend the $150.00 for a new one. So is there anyway to take that silly bulb out of the cluster so that silly light is out for good? I thingk it is anoying as hell.

nope not a good idea first you will imcompleat the circut and could posibly have a poor running complaint not sure on your spacific model but i have definitly seen it happen on others and the light is there to let you know somthing is wrong try a wrecking yard or after market suplier to see if you can find a canister cheeper if you do not want the high cost.
