96 F350 Limited slip rear end

When I back up I hear a clicking sound coming from the rear axle area. Worse when I turn the wheels. I thought it might be the brake adjusters stuck. I pulled the drums and cleaned the adjusters and manualy adjusted but still have the noise. I think it must be in the limited slip rear end. Does this mean the rear end will have to be replaced? Can I fix this short of replacing the rear end? Will I damage other coponents driving it,such as transmission and transfer case?

if the problem is in the differential it can be rebuilt if you let it go to long excessive damage in the rear end can occure but i would start with checking the "U" Joints to start with
