fan clutch quetstion

Hello...brand new to the group. I have a 92 dodge d150 3.9. Awhile back I had the fan clutch replaced. since then when ever I start driving it seems like the engine is roaring for the first couple of blocks. It then quiets down and runs normal. I am wondering if this could be the way that the clutch is supposed to operate or is there something wrong? thank you very much.

My 2001 Dak 3.9 does the same when I am in a hurry or when it is pretty cold out.But after that block or two its fine also.I read in a mag that this is normal and that like our engine we must give it a proper warmup period, though it did not say how long.Perhaps a few minutes warmup may do.Good luck
