1996 Chevy PU Electrical Problem

I have a 1996 Chey P/U 3/4 ton I bought new. Over the years I have had a continuous problem of it burning out the the the turn signal/break light curcit board on the driver side of the truck. I have replaced this board six or seven times. Does anyone have an idea of what the cause for this might be? Also, this truck came equipted with a safety feature of having the headlights burn at a low level anytime the truck was running. These lights do not burn anymore when the truck is running. Could this have any connections to the turnsignal/break light circut board problem?
