F-150 trailer light problem / need help

I have a 1997 f-150 pick up. I cannot get power to the running light pin of my trailer connector. I have traced the wire for opens all the way back up to the enging compartment. There are no opens or shorts. I have checked all fuses and relays under the hood and under the dash. The turn signals and break light pin on the trailer connector work fine. I pulled apart the multi pin plug under the hood and back fed the running lights wire to the trailer connector and it works fine.

I'm stumped???
