lp tanks

another question from a newbie, can the lp tanks be taken off the trailer or do we have to drive the unit to get them filled? Owners manual states bring the camper but my husband isn't so sure

You can remove them, and take them there to get filled. It's basically the same as a barbecue tank, & they don't ask you to bring your barbecue in. (not yet anyway) LOL. Same safety rules apply though, as far as securing the tank for trip to fill & back, and don't forget to spray connections after reconnect, with bubble solution, to be sure no leaks.

The answer to your question depends on what type of tanks you have.
If they are portable tanks of the bbq type they must be removed because they must be weighed when filled.
If they are built in then you will have to take in the whole camper.
You will know they are built in if you see a plastic cap and a small bleeder screw possibly under a cover, leading to an underbody tank, .
