Overcab bunk rotten.

Hi, Newbie here.

As I posted in another thread, I just bought a class C motorhome with the front bunk over the cab rotten out.

Has anyone replaced the bottom plywood in there? How big a deal is that?

I was thinking of carefully dismanteling the tin and pulling out the plywood, trace and cut a new piece and slide in the new, then securing the tin again.

Is this an oversimplification? What am I going to run into that will cause problems.

I don't want to snowshoe it. Between my wife and I we'll have over 500lbs up there.

Billy

from the outside

I don't know if this helps or not.

I bought a used Travel Trailer and discovered the four courners were pretty much rotten. I took it to an RV repair guy and he replaced all the studs and part of the floor and he did most of the work from the ourside! He took off the aluminum skin Aand piced it in and then reapplied the exterior siding.

Hope this helps..
