Catalytic converters

I have a 1998 Ford F150 4WD 5.4 V8
Anyone ever hear of both catalytic converters becoming plugged at one time ??
What would cause this ??
I thought I also heard auto manufacturers had to warrenty cat for 10 years.
Any input will be appreciated

I have heard of both of them having a meltdown at the same time which would in turn cause the plugging.

If your engine is running rich it will cause the converters to glow red hot. Even the substrate in the converters can only take so much heat before melting. A rich condition can involve both engine banks which would cause both converters to be subjected to the situation.

Thank you for that info.
Unfortunately this is exactly what happened to my truck.
Now the work begins trying to find the fuel problem that caused the cats to overheat.
