Help! Renovating travel trailer interior

I'm in the process of renovating our 1983 Jayco 5th wheel travel trailer, and we're wall paper-ing over the paneling, but there are these plastic washer things on the ceiling to hold the paneling up and my wife keeps complaining how ugly they are and she wants to get rid of them. I explained to her that they're necessary, and unless we can find somewhere to buy new ones, they'll just have to stay. Does anyone even know what these things are called? Any idea?? Help please!

Have you tried removing one? They may just be a decorative cover to hide a screw. If they are, I would think the exposed screw head would look worse.

RV Ceiling washers

Sometimes you just have to tell these gals "live with it" of course this gets easier after you have been married 40 years. Tom

Screws are needed to hold the panels because nails would loosen in time.
The caps are surely replaceble.
One company calls them "Snap Caps" but several companies make them.

i know in my toy hauler there are no screws fastening the ceiling or the wall paneling..all of the paneling was fastened with a finish stapler and approx. 3/16th x 1" staples...then wood putty over the staples..

Response to plastic washer

I work for a Jayco dealership. What you are describing I believe is called rosettes. They are for the screws.

rosettes

I'm pretty sure "rosettes" is the term I was looking for, the washers are in the shape of a flower, so that would make sense. Thanks again.
