Dakota Cooling System Question

I have a 2000 Dakota V6, AT, with 113,000 miles on it. I have noticed in the last three weeks a rather strong odor of coolant inside the truck. Yesterday I noticed for the first time coolant vapors coming out of the vents while I had the defroster on. The truck has never over-heated and in fact the temp gauge stays very steady between C and midway. I see no obvious leaks under the truck or in the engine compartment. There are no obvious leaks inside the truck, no coolant under the carpet, no evidence of any coolant leaking other than I did need to add about 2/3 of a quart of coolant mixture yesterday.

I'm thinking the heater core is leaking but can't see where. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Chaccof
