85 chevy silverado sometimes wont start

Hey guys, I have a 85 chevy silverado p/u that will not start sometimes. When I turn the key it makes a single click noise. I try again then it starts normally. Sometimes it takes several tries before it starts. Does anybody know what is causing this? If i need to replace my starter does anybody have step by step directions on how to do this. Thanks for your help and time

sounds like a starter problem you might check your cables to makes sure there clean and tight by removing each cable from the battery and check for corrosion, you can check autozones website to see if they have r&r instructions for the starter for your vehicle.
its not to difficult, disconnect the battery take your time making sure all wiring is clear of the exhuast and does not get pinched installing the new one.

Do as bejay says, and check the cables and ground first, but it sounds to me like a starter issue. May need to be replaced.
