how to build wooden ramps
i would like to build wooden ramps for my pick-up truck.
its a rear wheel drive (only)
whats a practical lenght for two ramps to carry a small lawn tractor or a dirt bike ???
looking for some professional advice !!!!!!! thank you!!!!!

I would guess the best lenth would be musure the bed of your truck with gate closed start there and go smaller if you like the longer the ramp the easeier it will be to load the truck

I use 2, 8 1/2 ',2x8 boards(planks). You van buy a set of clamp type plates at a hardware store to lay on your tailgate
for dirt bike,but for a lawn tractors weight,i'd remove the tailgate

Keep in mind that if you are loading a lawn tractor, the steeper the angle of the ramps, the more likely the tractor will hang on the transition from ramp to truck. That's why most of the pre-fab ramps you see are curved.
