engine swop

What do I need to change to put a motor out of my 1978 chevy truck, into a 1992 chevy truck, or is there a web site that can help me???????????

the changes are to numerous to write here, because of all of the emission changes to the engine. Also the bolt patterns will probably be different. if the engine is bad in your 1992 you would be better off to either rebuild it or buy a salvage same year motor or a factory reman.

Bolt pattern is the same, and the engine will physically fit, beyond that you are talking about changing a carbed. engine to fuel injection, not impossible but very difficult. All computer sensors will need to be installed in doner engine, the existing exhaust manifolds will not fit the 78 model engine, the starter on the 92 will not work on the 78 model flywheel. There will be more details to work out but the swap is possible. As far as a book I do not know where to get one
