fuel pump bleeding 1990 chev diesel 6.2

can not get fuel to the new filter after I changed it. How can I bleed the system or get fuel to the filter?

The easiest way is to fill the filter with fuel before you install it.

not certain on this particular set up.
Loosen filter,turn on ignition and see if fuel pump runs and pumps fuel into filter, will leak all over if it does,if not,just tap ignition key to start position quickly, may energise fuel pump to run a few seconds and start to fill.We have the same problem in our city transit buses with new mech. they get excited and forget to fill filter before replaceing and end up spending 3 hrs to get it started by loosening all fittings and bleeding and draining battery.Get a charger handy
