loose steering

i have a similar problem with my 97' dodge ram 1500 4x4. now i have a grinding sound in my front end. one mechanic told me it could be my drag link, another said ball joints and yet another said sway bar or something. i need to get it fixed but don't know who to believe. any suggestions?:helpme 2:

Welcome to the forums! Not so much a grinding, but a vibration, I fixed on my 2001 Dodge 4x4 was to change the sway bar bushings ($18 pair). One was mush. A grinding may be the universal joints on the front axle. Chock the wheels, put it in neutral and see if there is any play in the u joints. If so, post back and I'll give you the bad news.
