Fast Idle 5.9 Cummins
I was asked by a friend if a Dodge Ram is equipped with wiring and/or can modifications be made to allow fast idle. This guy works in the oil fields and idles his truck considerably each day. Can a fast idle modification be done to this vehicle?

Is it idling too fast or too slow for his desire? I know you see big rigs idling all the time, but a Cummins isn't meant to idle forever. Idling with the turbo not spinning will build up alot of carbon in the upper piston and valve train. Not nice to have to overhaul one. My 2001 has 362K on it and still runs like a top.

He is looking at raising the idle to avoid wet-stacking and allow his ac to function better while idling. I cautioned him on idling too much but he still wants a fast-idle of some sort without having to resort to using a stick.
