1996 f150 vss

1996 f150 vss

vehicle speed sensor is located on driver side rear of transmission. it is all unhooked but i can't get it out. any tricks?

If I remember correctly there should be a bracket holding it in with one bolt. After that bolt is removed it should pop out. It does have an o-ring that will make it tight.

bolt and connectors were removed right up front. it still wont budge. thanx much

just curious, why do you want to replace it?
the 'vss' is on the rear axle

rear abs sensor is on the rear differential. reason is speedometer was very erratic at highway speeds making cruise cintrol useless. one of three options was this vss sensor on the tranny. other is rabs, which i had already eplaced and third is very tough to get at. looks like i may be trying to get that out next.
