Opinions wanted. Snowplow & snow chains?

To plow my farm lane this year i have a (new to me) 86 F250 4x4 stick.

My tires are pretty smooth, but I do have one set of tire chains that fit.

Were you me, would you put the chains on the front or rear tires? (new tires are not in the picture)

I've always heard that you are only suppose to use chains on the rear..... but I suppose if you never go over 10 mph it wouldn't make a lot of difference.

Crud..lost my reply...
Short version....I'd buy another set of chains..they don't cost THAT much. Otherwise, at the speeds of most plowing, I'd probably put them on the rears..but you also need to add some weight back there. Bags of sand are cheap

The snow will push the front around anyway if you load it to much I would think...so your main issue is to not get stuck.
