transmission bushings

Is it possible to change gm th350c automatic transmission bushings with out buying one of those expensive tools?
If yes can you give me a little on how to do it.
I am rebuilding it and hate to buy a bunch of tools for a one time deal.

dick2256,

You don’t offer a description, nor do you go into any specifics about the bushings you are trying to install. With all due respect to you, that is like saying; “My Address Is Number One Georgia”. Below is a list of bushings that must be installed with special tools. (Setting and proper seating is critical). If the bushing you are trying to install is not on this list, then specialized tools are not necessary.

Front Pump Body - Babbitt

Stator Support - Front - .485 Wide

Stator Support - Front - L/U - .655 Wide

Stator Support - Rear

Direct Clutch Drum - Bronze

Direct Clutch Drum - Babbitt

Direct Clutch Drum - Solid H.D. - w/o Groove

Direct Clutch Drum - Wide - Babbitt - w/Oil Groove

Input Ring Gear

Sun Gear To Output Shaft & Reaction Carrier

Output Shaft Pilot

Output Shaft Pilot - Long - Bronze (3)

Output Shaft Pilot - Teflon

Case To Output Shaft - Babbitt

Case To Output Shaft - Bronze

Extension Housing - Bronze

Extension Housing - Babbitt

Extension Housing - Teflon

Governor Bore Repair Bushing must be installed with tool T-0107
