I run Sierra in my diesel, but mainly for environmental purposes, with all the animals around, etc. It is propylene glycol and does an adequate job, IMO. I believe the only caution that was issued was by GM and their aluminum block engines, which had to use the orange stuff. Is yours gas or diesel?

it is a diesel.
ended up with 'Havoline-extended life'-orange in color.
meets G.M. DexCool specs.
none(I looked at) mention Chrysler/Cumins specs?

I've been trying to kill my diesel for 389,000 miles and it won't die, so I would think it is tougher than a little antifreeze.

Dex cool is the worst. Should of put the regular green stuff in. Class action lawsuit was for only some models autos but it should of applied to all. Why it was only these I dont know. But I have the 4.3l S-10...wahhhhh!!!!

Dex sludge.

it is my son's truck
the problem was the coolant turned to gel.
probably got topped off with green coolant.
don't know about cumins-but with a ford (power stroke) if you use the green stuff you have to add the coolant additive (per navistar),
if you use the gold/extended life coolant- you don't need the additive.
