F150 Lost Power

My wife was driving my 2007 5.4 F150. She heard a grinding noise then watched the battery power drain while she was driving. She was able to make it home. The truck is in the driveway and will not start. Is this an alternator problem.

If she heard a grinding noise, I'd start by removing the fan belt (if it's still there) & spinning the pullys. If something has a bad bearing, you'll feel & hear it.. Roger

Thanks but way beyond my expertise. I am getting it towed (for free) and my warranty should cover it.
