2006 F150 4x4 changing front rotors and pads

Could anyone tell me how to change front rotors and pads on a 2006 Ford F150 4x4. I have been watching brake and rotor changing video clips but havent found one for a Ford F 150 4x4 2006. Thanks Rick

All front disc brake set ups are basically the same. You remove the caliper and pads [support the caliper - don't let it hang by the brake hose] compress the caliper [I use a block of wood and C clamp] insert new pads and reassemble.

Usually a c clamp. You need to watch the brake fluid also, since you will have the cap removed. Bleeding after? Rotors being cut?

Its not that simple if you have never done it.

My advice would be go get a Haynes manual for your truck from the local parts store. It will give you step by step. They run $50 or so but it will tell you how to repair and maintain your whole truck.

Good point!!

Last Haynes book I bought was about $15 but I think they are still a lot less than $50. It is really something you should invest in if you plan on doing as much work as you can on your truck.

Rotors will generally pull right off after the caliper is removed.

edit; the repair manual costs $25

the rotors slide off over the wheel studs. / but i see you are in 'Minnesota' so there may be a rust concern. might need a considerable amount of force to loosen the rotor from the hub-(hammer-pry bar-torch-etc)
