Is it possible for me to change the air conditional unit by myself? And if I can, how do I do that?

Welcome to the forums! Unless you have the proper refrigerant recovery system ($$$) , gauges ($$) and a license to buy R13 refrigerant, I would say "nope".

"Unit"? Are you talking compressor? Condensor? Evaporator? Either way, what chandler says goes, although if the system is already depleted (no refrigerant) you could conceivably replace any or all of the components and then have it charged. Or, you could have the refrigerant removed by a licensed shop, do the work, and then have it recharged. Lot of work for a little savings, though, and there would be no warranty involved.
