Looking at a Ford F150 1978 Any advise??

I borrowed this truck once. 2 wheel drive Good overall condition!
I believe its close to 85,000k miles. Its a late seventies model This is all on memory. I will solidify the specs on closer inspection. IT really had a good feel on the highway and plenty of zip.
Its up for sale asking $1000 I believe he did the brakes and shocks. and ok Rubber.
I would love to get some input I dont see many of these for sale very often
hard to judge and compare.
Will try and post a picture later on.
thanks

Unless there's something being camouflaged, that would be a good buy. How's the body/chasis for rust?

How do you plan to use it? without an overdrive it will probably be hard on gas - compared to modern trucks. My 76 ford 4x4 gets about 11 mpg..... but I don't rack up a lot of miles on it

What engine? 351 Cleveland or Windsor? I had a 73 and had to make sure I filled the tank before I planned on a trip over the mountains. Sucked fuel, but pulled like draft horse on steroids.

Ya, but your truck brings in money..... mine just spends it Even when I load it up for work, it's usually work I won't get paid for. But that's one of the benefits of being retired - helping out friends and relatives.
