Question 1994 Ford Ranger squeaky brakes

Can anyone tell me how to solve a squeaky brake problem? The brakes were replaced about 10,000 miles ago so Im pretty sure they have plenty of pad left on them. The squeak is coming from the front brakes. It doesnt seem to squeak until the vehicle is almost stopped. Any ideas?

Could just be a buildup of brake pad dust that can be cleaned. If you take the calipers apart to clean them up, you can also check to see if the pads have teflon shims installed behind them to help stop vibration squeal between the pads and the caliper piston, and if not you can install them or apply a thin layer of brake grease only on the back of the pads of course. It can also be due to some glazing on the rotors that will require some resurfacing. Some brake pads also are known to squeal more than others. Original equipment pads generally are the best to avoid this compared to some aftermarket ones. In the end you will probably need to clean up the calipers and resurface the rotors due to some glazing if you want to improve things completely, at least for another 10K.
