ford explorer problems

2005 ford explorer was running ok, then i changed the oil and plugs and it started running rough,,,why

The plug wires are very sensitive to damage. If you had to tug on any of the boots, it's likely that the connections were damaged. Also you must always use silicone dielectric compound (a white grease) on the inside of each boot before it is reconnected.

If even one wire has been damaged it is always recommended that you replace the whole set. Other possibilities would be wrong plugs or incorrectly gapped plugs.

very likely bad contact somewhere on plugs, or bad wire. just like sleeper said. Or bad plug. Happens. Read codes at any parts store.
Also, make sure that nothing was left disconnected, easy to unplug something un noticed.

OEM plugs or other? Gap???

Along with everything else are you sure you hooked the ignition wires up correctly? it isn't that hard to get 2 wires mixed up.
