fuel system 1988 F-150

How do I check to see why I dont seem to be getting fuel to the filter. I disconnected the line behind the filter and turned over engine, but could not see gas coming out of line?I tried switching tanks with no luck. There is gas in the tanks.

Welcome to the forums.

You have several items that could be causing you issues. There is a device usually on the right side of the dash just under the glove box. It's called a rollover switch and shuts down the electric pumps. It has a button that you press down on the top to reset.

I believe you have two intank fuel pumps and you may also have a booster one on the frame just under the drivers seat.

You have the EEC-IV ignition system and the main control box controls the fuels pumps thru a relay. The fuel pump relay is located under the plastic shield at the air cleaner support bracket.

When you turn the key on.....the computer only activates the fuel pump(s) for about 10 seconds.
