2008 f150 air conditioner

I have a 2008 f150 stx, 4.6 I turn the air on it only blows hot air. I took it to the garage they did pressure test with dye, they said there is no leaks and the system is full of gas, they think it might be a computer issue which they said they can't fix it because ford hasn't released the program to the public,I don't know anything about fixing trucks does anyone know if this is the case,they said they checked all the fuses, and has to be computer or ground but they would need the program or special tool to fix it which ford didn't release.any suggestions so I won't have to take it back to ford"they just charge to much" thanks

What you’re describing here is a common issue for your particular truck. Motorcraft has known about the problem for years, but refuses to issue a recall or tsb (Technical Service Bulletin). To add insult to injury (and after reading your posting), it’s safe to say that the mechanic (or mechanics) you are dealing with are unqualified. Print out the link below, then find an ASE MASTER MECHANIC (with credentials and A/C certifications to do the repair for you. Make sure you show the mechanic the link.
