Dodge ram 1500 sometimes no start
2005 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L V8 sometimes is a no start: either one or several ignition key turns with nothing and then the truck will turn over. When this happens, truck is totally dead with dash lights on.
After the truck died a month ago, with a new symptom, dash lights flashing, a new battery had it running again, but the no start condition would still happen occasionally. Alternator tested good.
Usually starts fine: this happened four separate times yesterday, so getting worse.
Is a dying starter is a possibility? Could a fuel pump relay or starter relay cause this state?
Started up perfect this morning.

Fuel pump relay.....no. Starter..... maybe.
My guess....... neutral safety switch. A very common but often overlooked problem.
Next time it won't start......try starting it in neutral instead of park.

Neutral Safety Switch is a definite. Is all electrical dead with a NSS malfunction?
I did try starting it in neutral when it died one day: after 15 minutes it started right up. Starter relay, CPS, fuel relay, NSS and starter/solenoid is what I will be looking at today. Thanks!
