I have a 1996 Dodge Dakota, crew cab, bucket seats. At the lower back of each seat is a lever which allows the seat to tilt forward, for entry to the crew area. The mechanism seems to have slipped out of place, and the seat will not lock in the upright position.
How do I fix this?
Can I take the entire seat mechanism apart from the seat, and get it back later without special tools?
I haven's even been able to find this part number, or a diagram anywhere.
Anything at all appreciated,
Thanks,

Just in case someone out there is even slower than I:
Under normal conditions, the seat is not supposed to lock in the upright position. I had forgotten about this. It only locks under "hard breaking" conditions. But, occasionally, it will become "stuck", and not move at all. This is how this started for me. A liberal application of WD-40 and some "jiggling" loosened everything up. All is now well.
It would still be nice to know if I can remove the entire mechanism from the seat.
