2001 Ford Ranger, Ignition coil

My truck is missing every now and then so I'm replacing the ignition coil (this will be the 4th thing I've done), but the ignition coil I'm replacing has 3 mounting screws (2 in the front, one centered in the rear) and every replacement coil I've seen has 4 screw mounting. This is for the 3L/6, gas-only engine. Am I not seeing something?

thanks - Mark

I take it all back - there are three-hour versions. Somehow I wound up with a four holer - time to return I guess

It's pretty rare for the coil to cause a miss.
I'm guessing you've already changed the plugs and wires ?

You mentioned ignition coil. Does your engine have a cap and rotor or a newer style coil pack where all the plug wires connect to it ?
