no tail lights to trailer!
replaced the plug in...now have a 7 and 4 plug in but still no park lights using either...thinking brown wire is the problem...seem to have 7 volts avail...

Welcome to the forums!
You first need 12 volts. & volts sounds like you have a bad connection. On a flat 4 plug white is ground, Green and yellow are right and left turn/brake lights. Brown is your running lights.
Start with a analog meter and measure between white and brown for 12 volts DC with the tow vehicle lights on. (Trailer not connected) If you don't have 12 volts start looking for a blown fuse.
