2009 Ford F-150 Overheating with Air Conditioner on???

I recently bought a 2009 Ford F-150 XLT. Recently (last weekend) I started to get a "loud squeak" from under the hood. This morning, I looked down and the temp gauge was all the way maxxed and the warning light / symbol was on. I immediately reached down and turned off the air conditioner and slowed down. The temp gauge went back to normal within 30-45 seconds of turning off the a/c. I then drove regular speed on highway, no temp fluctuation, then I turned the defrost on to check...and the temp shot up again.

Considering I just bought this truck a Month and a half ago...I am pretty preturbed...but I simply do not know what I need to do. We are trying to save for a family vacation and I just can't do $500 at the Ford Dealer and I need help.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Welcome to the forums!

First you need to make sure there is enough coolant! also check to make sure the electric fan comes on.

Front of the radiator clean? Sometimes that can get full of bugs and other junk and reduce the capacity.
