Question Tail light problem on 94 gmc pickup

I guess this problem has been going on for months and Im stumped.Ive check everything and changed what it says to change in the manual and the problem persist.
The problems are when I turn on the head lights I have no rear runners or brake lights and the turn signals get realy dim and slow.
So Im just going to do away with the factory tail lights altogether and use trailer lights instead.
Ive already bought them but wiring being my weak point I don't know how to wire them.
The are a single light bulb with double filaments. They have two wires coming out of the back so can somedy tell me where to start.I appreciate the help Aaron

Check the ground connection between the box and frame! I've run into this many times.
