Question Waste water

We have a 1994 Nomad 5th-wheel 20' RV. So far, everything works fine but we have an unusual condition. Our "grey" water tank is located approximately 6" higher than our "black" water tank. Whenever I empty our "grey" water tank, I can hear the water running out of the sewer pipe. Whenever I empty our "black" holding tank (water only), I never can hear the water running out. It's got to be running out because our indicators indicate that it is empty. I have even taken the cap off at home and watched the valve working O.K. Is this difference in height enough to cause this to happen?

Cool ???

I dont get the problem, if it's draining then it's ok. As far as hearing the water run out, clean water is not as heavy as the grey water so maybe thats it.

Lightbulb My Two Cents Worth

Hello: J A

If hearing isn't possible, than maybe seeing would be believing. Try this.

Add coloring to the water. Use some of that blue chemical product often used in toilets to sanitize & disinfect.

Bying adding the coloring, you'll be able to actually "SEE" the water running out. "Seeing is believing."
