slow drain

My bathtub has a slow drain. I have no idea how to get clog undone other than using chemicals. Any suggestions on how to get to the clog?

Cool

Try DrainCare.
It is non-caustic and an enzyme-based drain cleaner that eats organic clogs out (hair, soap scum, grease, etc.)
Just follow the directions on the jug. It may take more than one application, depending upon how sluggish the drain is.
Good Luck!

There is another product called Pequa, sold at Home Depot and other stores, has worked pretty well for me.

Hello, I attack the tub shoe first. I clear about 75% of drains that way. Look into the drain and remove any debris you can see. It never fails to amaze me of how much hair and other stuff I can remove. If that fais I use a snake down the overflow.

Cool

A good flexible homemade "plumber's snake" ideal for tub drains is a piece of braided steel cable.
Bend the strands on the end into little hooks with needle-nosed pliers. Works great for snagging out hair, etc.
Good Luck!
