Unhappy Toilet monster

We have three toilets in our home. The one in the basement works well most of the time, but once in a while, usually in the middle of the night, once it is flushed it will make an extremly loud annoying nosie after refilling. I am talking about a house shattering noise, just to stress a point. It almost sounds like what happens when there is air in the pipes, but notched up a few decibles! Our other toilets seem to be working fine, and the problem toilet is ok aside from this terrible noise.

What could be the reason behind it and is there anything we can do to fix it? I am sure our neighbours would love it if we corrected the problem, we live in a semi and yes it is really that loud!

I must add that this site is amazing! This may be my first post, but being a new home owner of a fixer-upper, this is far from my last!

Replace the fillvalve in the tank with a fluidmaster fillvalve.
