Ok Here goes. Yesterday I opened my bathroom undersink cabinet to realize my stored toilet paper was completely soaked. I quickly found the culprit, the compression fitting that ties the pipe to the wall with the trap was worn out so I proceeded to replaces the entire trap. Along the way I noticed the pipe to the wall was completely rusted out at the bottom so it will need to be replaced. (It broke on me in three seperate locations) now only about 2 inches of pipe protrude from where it goes into the drain behind the wall and only about 1/2" still sticks out pas the wall I wish to remove this pipe and replace it but I'm not sure how it is attached to the cast iron one behind the cabinets, is this typicl a screw in pipe or is it soldered? for now I used a compression fitting with an adapter to hook it up to the new setyup but it is leaking a bit since I cannot get my hand around the fitting to tighten it enough. (to make matters worse the sink was also rusted pretty bad were the overflow returns to then drain so it also leaks from there its new sink time :) EDIT: Sorry forgot to mention this is 1-1/4" chorme plated copper pipes

I have never had to fix a tub faucet before. It drips all day long, about a drop every 2 to 3 seconds. What do I need to do to get this to stop? Do I replace a gasket or the whole spout? Can someone give me some real idiot proof instructions? Thanks
