venting
probably an easy one..
I'm redoing all the plumbing in the bathroom. Running ABS everywhere, even for the venting..
a friend suggested that we use cast iron for the part of the venting stack that goes through the roof...(cast iron better for exposure to outside elements..)
is this typical to do? i'm curious what others have done and what is recommended..

If your worried about UV, paint the vent pipe.
If you are in an area where you have snow, freezing conditions: you may want to expand vent one pipe size before going through the roof for snow - frost protection.
