popping noise when using hot water
We have a new construction home. Whenever we use hot water, we get a popping noise either in the pipes or the water heater. Is this normal and is this something that will go away with time, or do we have a problem here
Thanks in adcance

A popping noise related to a water heater usually indicates debris inside the heater tank.
Attach a water hose to the drain spigot at the bottom and drain the tank until the water runs clear of debris, particles, etc.
Try to run the hot water onto a driveway. Hot water can kill grass, plants, etc.
Good Luck!

This happens at my house too and my house was built in 1977. I hear it when I am running the water upstairs to get it hot enough - it is like a thumping in the wall.
Very weird - I've heard it in other homes too -
Any ideas?

It's called expansion and contraction on the pipe, too tight to a stud, this could be bad in future, could cause a leak at that point.
Call the contractor back, see it this can be solved, use that warranty.
