venting basement bathroom

I am putting in a basement bathroom with shower, toilet, and sink. I have a utility sink directly above the bathroom that I am going to pull the supply lines and tie into the drain system (using up flush toilet system). Can I use the drain from the utility sink as my wet vent? 1 1/2 pvc

Only if you are using a 3 inch drain on the toilet.

Best check with your local plumbing inspector, not sure what code is in NC but here in Oregon min size for a toilet is 2" and there are a few rules about wet venting, can almost bet a wet vent at 1-1/2" will not be good enough.

1-1/2" isn't big enough (and now you've heard it 3 times!!) Go to the local bldg. dept. and see how they will allow you to do it.

wet vented fixtures must be on the same floor level. you cannot wet vent a sink on one floor with a fixture from the floor abovve it (UPC)

I am using a saniflo up flush system that specifies me to use a 1 1/2 pvc as vent from the pump unit. I will check local code.

If you are saying that you are going to decommission the utility sink and convert it solely to a vent line you will be closer but still, 2" is right and proper.
