Combination Disposal And Sink

My disposal seems to be working but the sink appears to be blocked. I am not very good at do it yourself thing, where I have to take something apart.

What would be the simplest approach to (a) determining if the problem is disposer or blocked pipe?

If blocked pipe the easiest way ro unblock (have tried plunger)
Our equipment is only 2 years old (ditto for pipes )

Robert,

The disposal is fine. What you have is a clogged drain. The plunger usually won't help in a kitchen sink, and don't waste your time or money on a liquid drain cleaner.

What has to happen is the drain under the sink, from the disposal to the wall, needs to be taken apart and cleaned. It goes back together exactly like it is now. The only tool you will need is a pair of pliers large enough to fit the nuts of the drain. If the pipe is plastic, you may not even need that.

If you want to tackle it yourself, we are only a few keystrokes away. Otherwise, you will need to call somebody. Good handyman if you know one, or a plumber.
