water pump running
Our water pump seems to run when anyone runs any small amount of water. Is it the red knob on the top that i need to take off to let air into it? I know I'm supposed to shut the breaker off, but could you give me more detailed instructions?

Well, I think we might have gotten it figured out. The red knob is the air valve. I just hope this fixes it. That pump kicks on just from turning the water on to wet your toothbrush. We turned the power off and drained the water, and getting ready to pump in some air.

With the pump off and the water pressure drained off, check that air valve with a tire gauge.
It should be two psi below your pump cut-on pressure.

The problem wasn't just the pump being water-logged. There was a bad wire in the switch. I guess that was causing the pump to come on constantly. The switch replacement was only $10 or so. Hopefully we will see a difference in our electric bill. Thank you for your help. Love this site.
