Question Drain from Water Softener on the street

I have seen quite a few water softener installations at my frineds houses, may of them drain on the street or in the gutter drain.

What is the code regarding this? Is it safe or OK to drain water softener like that?

I want to install water softener myself and I am not able to locate drain pipe access for my house. I was wondering if I should spend money to ask plumber to locate drain pipe access for me or can I just drain that on the street?

Depends. There may be local codes for you to follow. Try starting with either the city or county building inspectors office.
