sump pump connection

The sump pump in my basement has 1 1/2 inch pvc pipe connected from the pump up to the pipe that goes out to the street. The PVC pipe is on an angle and therefore the connection with the pipe isn't perfect (some water is leaking)

My question is this: If I cut the current PVC pipe and connect an elbow to it then another piece of PVC from the elbow to the pipe, will this deter the flow of water from the sump pump to the pipe going to the street. I'm thinking that the reason the PVC is on angle is because the person who installed this knew something that I didn't.

You could get a flexible neoprene fitting to join this almost perfect joint.

And since the pipe carries pumped water, no need to worry about the extra elbows... they won't hurt anything if it is easier to do the elbows instead of the "fernco" rubber coupling...
