how do I change a fridge water line?

I currently have a 1/4" copper water line going to my refridgerator for the ice despensor. I am putting in a wood floor, so I'll need to remove the line, lay the floor, drill a hole in the floor, and re-run a water line. The copper obviously cannot withstand all this bending. So I'd like to remove this copper water line, and replace it with the white plastic type of line. How do I do this? Can I tap into the same hole in the main water line in the basement?

Cool

If you have a saddle valve on a copper line in the basement, just get a new refrigerator hookup kit with a plastic line, turn off the saddle valve, disconnect the old copper line from the valve (remove nut on line), and attach the new plastic line to the old saddle valve.
The plastic line should have a brass sleeve that goes into the end of it for the brass ring ferrule to seal against (all should be in the kit).
Good Luck!
